Abstract
We present, for the first time, the heaven-earth relationships of the Truká people, highlighting their ancestral knowledge about the Moon in relation to agricultural activities, animal husbandry, and fishing. We discuss how Truká's own learning processes can be transformed into tools for cultural strengthening in the promotion of Intercultural Education and Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER). With a qualitative methodological perspective, based on listening to older people (oral narratives) from the Truká community of Ilha de Assunção, in Pernambuco, indigenous thought is activated to interpret the heaven-earth relationships that are unveiled throughout the investigation process. The results of the work reveal ancestral knowledge of the Truká people about the Moon that challenges the teaching of Physical Sciences, through Astronomy in Cultures, and strengthens the differentiated project of Indigenous School Education in processes of didactic-pedagogical and epistemological resumption.
